Mental Health Foundation (MHF) is currently sparking conversations with its Young Leaders through Leaders Unlocked. It hopes to encourage young people to engage in the topic of healthy dependable relationships and how to achieve them. Read more
We delivered our first #VlogstarHull project in 2020. We partnered with the Media Trust and a range of youth partners to deliver a very special edition of the project where the theme was learning about and forming healthy and reliable relationships. Read more
As part of Shropshire Council’s award-winning, county-wide approach to relationships, schools across the county are engaging students in RSE curriculum design and helping parents make informed decisions about participation. Read more
Tavistock Relationships are training teachers at Highgate School in North London to recognise and respond to the signs of conflict between a child’s parents. Where conflict between parents is frequent, intense and poorly resolved, it can have a major impact on children and young people. Read more
Bankside Primary School is based in a diverse community in Leeds. For ten years, the school has been running its RSE programme, Living and Growing. This is supported by a whole-school approach to teaching relationship skills, and parent engagement has been key to making the programme work. Read more
Wood Farm primary school takes a whole-school approach to building strong relationship. These support children, parents and teachers, and result in high staff retention and above-average pupil improvement. Read more
Northcott School, a special school in Hull, is working with local provider Cornerhouse to deliver relationships education. They have created learning that fits with the school's emphasis on communication and is tailored to the young people’s needs. Read more
St John’s Catholic Primary School, in Shropshire, has started work on the new RSE curriculum by signing up for Shropshire Council’s Respect Yourself programme, building staff confidence and communicating with parents. Read more
Educational charity Explore provides workshops that feed into schools’ RSE learning. Real-life couples open themselves up to frank questioning by young people in the classroom, enabling students to think differently about commitment and long-term relationships. Read more
In Doncaster, students at XP School are making substantial academic progress. This is thanks to a radical whole-school approach to relational skills that prepares them for learning and life. Read more
Primary schools in Coventry and Warwickshire are using Relate workshops to help children to tackle bullying and nurture healthy relationships. The children learn to recognise their feelings, navigate friendships and develop protective behaviours. Read more
Thanks to an innovative RSE peer education programme at Mounts Bay Academy, young people are approaching adults with their relationship concerns and bullying has reduced. Read more
This toolkit has been developed to train young people to become relationship champions. Fastn provided an experienced youth worker to work with the young people involved to support the development of resources. Read more
Following the success of their involvement in VlogstarHull, the young people at Freedom Road Creative Arts (FRCA) took the initiative to create an episode on the FRCA podcast about healthy, dependable relationships. Since then, with the financial and organisational support of Fastn, they have produced weekly podcasts. Read more
